Calia is a two year old fearless litte girl who loves to swing and run around the playground.  She also loves bubbles of all kinds, whether blowing bubbless or bubbles in the bath.  Calia loves to "pat pat" all of the things, she has even requested to "pat pat" the lions at the zoo.

Calia was born with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and must wear hearing aids to fully perceive and interact with the world around her.  She started wearing hearing aids at 10 weeks of age and shortly thereafter she began attending parent infant sessions at Ohio Valley Voies.  In August of 2022 she transitioned to the Toddler program at OVV.  She attends the toddler program 5 days per week where all her teachers and aides are passionate about working with children who are deaf and have hearing loss and teaching those children to speak.  She also receivese daily speech therapy at OVV.  As a result of these interventions she is thriving and surpassing milestones.

The family is requesting money to continue her services at Ohio Valley Voices so Calia can continue to THRIVE.

Building Blocks for Kids supports children and families who live with disabilities in a wide variety of ways.  One of those ways is through our Meet A Need Medical Scholarship Program.  This program allows us to meet individual needs, one child at a time.
